Evidence-based strategies to help you score better in PIST examinations
Divide your entire syllabus into 4 weekly blocks. Allocate more time in weeks 1–2 for hard topics. Reserve week 4 for full revision only.
Past exam papers reveal the most repeated topics. Solve at least 3 years of papers — pattern recognition alone can add 20–30 marks.
For vocational & technical subjects, understanding practical concepts beats rote memorization — especially for oral and practical exams.
Use the Pomodoro technique — 25 minutes of focused study, then a 5-minute break. Your brain retains far more information this way.
Explaining a topic to a classmate is one of the most effective ways to solidify your own understanding. Schedule weekly group sessions.
